Gillian Dunlop

For many years Gillian Dunlop entered art exhibitions and accepted commissions via her agent Barbara Higgins. Her work was hung in the Archibald (2004), Blake and Portia Geach Prize exhibitions as well as the Salon des Refuses (People’s Choice Award, 2006).

Portrait Commissions Include

  • Governor General, Her Excellency, Dame Quentin Bryce
  • Governor of NSW, Dame Marie Bashir
  • Governor of Victoria, Prof David de Kretser
  • Governor of Tasmania and Head of the Australian Defence Force, Sir Phillip Bennett
  • Chief Justice John Pascoe, Family Law Court of Australia

Other commissions include actors, politicians,  captains of industry, doctors and principals of schools and colleges.

She still accepts commissions but now rarely has time to submit work for exhibition. Her main focus is to become the best possible painter she can be.
